How to do successful affiliate marketing in the age of AI, with Matt McWilliams

In this session we are going to talk about AI powered affiliate marketing and specifically how to use AI to create compelling affiliate communication and I'm really excited to be here with Matt McWilliams. He's a four-time affiliate manager of the year. He's worked with some of the biggest entrepreneurs out there.

I've been part of many of his launches that he ran for these names, like Ryan Levesque, Stu McLaren, and many more. And he also helps online business owners make money as an affiliate and leverage the power of affiliate partners to grow their business. And he has a great blog and podcast and a lot more things.

And I think we've known each other for almost 10 years now. I remember when you came on board for one of the first summits I was part of with Chandler Bolt. You came on board for this one. It was a massive success. I think that was the first time we communicated and worked together.

Warm welcome, Matt. Gosh, that was, that was a long time ago. Yeah I mean, and now you're also a bestselling author. I, forgot you have like in the background, turn your passions into profits. That, that is, That was a pretty big success for you as well. So, Congrats on that. Oh, thank you.

Yeah, All of that stuff was long before I could have imagined that we'd be talking about what we're talking about today. Like that was, It's crazy. It's pretty wild. I mean, yeah, for sure. I mean, We could get into a lot of stuff here. We talked in the pre chat a little bit, but I do think I mean, you have been in it for a while.

Tell me a little bit how you got into AI and how that's helping you in the world as an affiliate manager, but also like for your clients and the people you see that that you're I mean, also for your own launches you're, you're promoting some products as well that you can speed up the process for.

Yeah. I mean, So I've been doing this for 18 years. And I mean, when you have, anytime you have, and it doesn't need to be 18 years, it could be a year or two of experience doing something. What, What I feel like we can do is we can take AI. Like Specifically for content creation, communication, whether it be the emails that we send to affiliates or the blog posts that I write to promote a product that I, you know, I love, or the emails that we send to promote a product that we love or social media messages.

When you've been doing something for a while you, you develop a voice. You know, And my voice has changed. I mean, My voice uh, really began to take shape about six or seven years ago before I kind of figured out my voice you know, like, okay, how do I write? What are the key components of how I communicate?

And I realized, exactly how I, like I said, how I communicate with people in an effective way. And when AI came along, specifically ChatGPT at first, we realized that, okay, we could use this to create authentic content, that content that, that is me. That's in my voice, that sounds like me, punctuates like me, that capitalizes like I do, that has even the, the crazy thing is , there are things that I do that are not grammatically correct, you know I use ellipses in incorrect way.

In your email that you send, because I get sometimes your communication, right? I think you have even something there that you know, you might see spelling errors and things like that. Yeah, it even has picked up on that for us, we realized that AI could basically take, it could clone me.

Instead of needing for me to spend say four hours a week creating content, or needing to hire more copywriters, because previously, like if we wanted to put out, we would put out two epic blog posts a week. These are blog posts in excess of 5,000 words on a specific topic that give you every step of the topic.

These were my words. These were taken from transcripts of podcast episodes and webinars and other things that I'd done. And instead of having to pay somebody literally hundreds and hundreds of dollars to do those things. We could create those in a matter of hours. Yes, we have to do the things like add the images and format the paragraph sometimes, but this, and it sounds like me, for one, it was me, it was my words, but two, it's, it creates, it learns our style and so we can talk about how I've done that, for me, I realized, I could effectively clone myself.

So now I'm able, me, Matt McWilliams you know I'm able to release two epic blog posts in excess of 5,000 words every single week. I'm able to send between the different segments and everything, 10 emails a week to my audience. I post 48 a day times seven, whatever the math, we'll just call that 336 if my math is correct, social media posts a week, all of those things.

And I'm able to do that in a matter of two hours, maybe two and a half. And this you do without hiring more people and stuff like that. Without hiring more people. For me, it's about two, I spend two to two and a half hours a week. And my assistant spends about another two hours a week doing a little bit of cleanup and some things like that.

And coming up with some new ideas that do require that human brain. It is not human intelligence. It's artificial intelligence. You know It's still got some funkiness to it, but we've trained it so well. Because we are coming on this after, it's like the developer day with OpenAI was just yesterday at the time we were recording this and basically they announced that they are coming out with GPTs, basically these agents that you can train up to do different tasks.

I think it's just a matter of time until you can just tell them, like you mentioned, like some certain things, maybe adding images and stuff like that. I think the AI is going to get in the direction of actually becoming more action based. Not just, and it's actually going to do the job for you a little bit.

I think that's, yep. We have started to get into that. It even, it does make image recommendations. And it makes them, that's the hard part to train. because for, I'll give you an example. We'll go into, so if we're doing . So we did a post recently about how to create an affiliate terms and conditions, right?

It's over 7, 200 words long and it is walks you through step by step how to do it. And there's this particular part where I talk about meeting with FTC attorneys. In the United States, the FTC is the Federal Trade Commission. The FTC is what controls essentially what passes most of the rules that pertain to marketing in the United States.

So for instance, in the United States, as far as I can remember, like you can't do cigarette advertising on television, right? You can do it in print. And so for instance, it's the FTC, I believe that regulates what you can say in a print ad to market cigarettes. Like you can't you know target children and stuff.

They're the ones who manage that. They also manage affiliate marketing because well, that's marketing. And so there's this particular part where I talk about meeting with these FTC attorneys. This was pulled from a transcript. ChatGPT not ChatGPT because it's actually a software that we developed using ChatGPT, wrote a perfect paragraph but I wanted an image because the story that I'm telling, and the image reinforces this story, is about how these FTC attorneys, when we got the transcript of meeting with them, every time I said, pay per click marketing, meaning pay per click, they called it paperclip marketing, like the thing you hold pieces of paper together with, and it's a funny story, and I was talking about how kind of, quite frankly, how dumb the

FTC can be about some stuff and I needed an image and I said, give me an image for this and the image was horrible. It was absolutely, it had nothing to do with, it was not funny, it was just basically a picture of a paper clip ? Yeah. So, yeah, we're getting there. I would say it gets the right image 20 percent of the time, but I think, you think, wow, that's really bad.

That means eight, I spend two hours sometimes just coming up to create the images for a post. 20 percent is about 25 minutes of my life every week that I save because of AI. So even if it's only 20 percent accurate I can live with that and if it, what if I get up to 30 percent accuracy by this time next year, that's even better.

Yeah, that's also an in depth blog post, Matt. So it's like very, you're saving a lot of time. How long would it normally take you to do that? Pretty long time, but let's get into it a little bit the different, different parts of affiliate marketing and how AI can help with that.

There's the thing you do at Manages, launches and things like that. And of course, if you're running a launch, you need to have affiliates, swipe, copy, and all of this kind of communication, reaching out to partners and all that. And there's the other spectrum of it. When you are an affiliate promoting software products or launches or whatever that is.

So maybe you can get into a little bit on, on these things that you need and how AI can actually speed up that, because I know I've run a lot of launches. It's very time consuming. So I'm interested. We are always interested to save time here. It's a good time saving tool, as you've already heard here from Matt.

Yeah. We had, let's talk about running, let's talk about the affiliate marketing side first. Yeah. Obviously there are, when you really break it down to its core, there are only a few ways to promote things via affiliate marketing. There's content. So a blog I'll just say a blog yes, you could do YouTube and podcast, and we can talk about that, but let's say you're going to do a product review.

Well, If you train AI in your voice and style, which we had already written as a company a hundred different product reviews. Plus I had written a guide on how to do product reviews that walks you through how to do product reviews, right? And, um, If you want to get that, by the way, just go to mattmcwilliams.com/reviewpost, and you can download that and you can use that to train your AI and you can tell it like in there, we say, make sure to have this type of keyword density, you want to use the keywords that you're targeting enough, but not too much, you know how it is.

You've read those posts that are like overly keyword dense where it's if you remember the days, the key keyword stuffing, that was the days like, maybe like 10 plus years ago, I would say. If you're looking for a Fort Wayne chiropractor in Fort Wayne, really? Like I get it, you're trying to optimize for Fort Wayne chiropractor, but that's a really dumb sentence, you know?

Um, then we have a great list of chiropractors in Fort Wayne for all of you Fort Wayne residents looking for a chiropractor, people would keyword stuff and write those actual sentences. So we've trained it like, use the keyword this much, but not too much, yada, yada, yada. And we train how to write this, how to write the headlines and all those things.

So we trained this. And then we said, here are a hundred different review posts that we wrote. These are my words. So it knows I don't use the word amazing. I really don't use that word. I use the word AWESOME. And it learned even how I write certain words in all caps. I don't italicize.

I use all caps. That's just myself. So it never gives me italicized words. It gives me, okay. So I did this and then what I did was I took, I would, I took a product review and I said, okay, here's the outline of a product review. Here are the sections. Here are, here's what I like about it.

And I wrote probably 400 words of what amounted to a 5,000 word blog post. I wrote those 400 words and gave it the stuff. And then I took each section and I said, here's how I rewrote this post. After about 10 times of doing that. I mean, now honestly can pretty much just copy paste.

I'll read through it one time. I usually read through it out loud. The last product review post I wrote was 5,100 words. I do typically target between about 4000-6000 words on those because they want to be in depth, but not like ridiculously long. The last one was 5,400 words. I think I made three edits in the entire, it was literally just like a couple of Things that I felt were repetitive and I just deleted sentences and we were done.

That was it. Yeah, I think that's impressive, by the way I just wanted to come in because I think the blog post, I mean, with, are you using ChatGPT for this, by the way? Is that, I mean, you said you have your own. We built the system on ChatGPT, yes. On the OpenAI's API, basically.

Yeah, okay. So you have prompts behind the scenes and things like that to make it work. Yes, so what I will do now. So let me give you a different example. With the review post, it's pretty straightforward, right? A product review post, follow my rules. There are 37, 38 rules that we gave it . It's like in a set format, you have your way.

I've seen your post, Matt. So I have also my way. It's quite similar, right? It's like you have your titles, pros and cons, blah, blah. You have all this stuff and then you can tell the AI, you just follow that. Yeah. If you look at one that AI has written and one that I've written, you would not be able to tell them apart.

They are in the exact same consistent format. Let's look at the email though, because email can be very different. Email is not a set format. So what we did with email was we actually went through, again, I've got, it helps when you have virtually 10 years of data, right? Of a data set, but I went through and I didn't give it every email I've ever written.

I looked for what were, what was the top 10%? I think that's about what we did. We said the open rate has to, I think the open rate we targeted was like 32 percent or higher. Which would be like our top 10, 12%. I said a certain click through rate has to be this click through rate, yadda, yadda, yadda, right?

We then categorize those. So I would tell like here's an email promoting a webinar, an open cart, a closed cart, a summit, a challenge, whatever. And I would tell it what it's promoting and I would load the subject lines. If there was winning subject lines, or if we split tested the subject lines, I would give it the winning and the losing subject line and say, this was the winner.

And then I would classify it as, short, medium, or long. I would classify it. I would give it the data that said this was the click through rate and all that. And then I would give it some other parameters, like things basically tell it what I liked about the email and what I didn't.

So then I would load that in. We did that. With probably 250 emails and we trained it and said, here's what it is. So now I can go in and say, I will then, actually let me back up because I did one other thing I forgot about. I took any of the ones where we had swipe copy that we use.

Sometimes I don't even look at swipe copy. But sometimes I do use the swipe copy. If you don't know what that is, it's when an affiliate program gives you suggested email copy or Social media copy for that matter. It says, here's what we give you. And you can use this as a guide.

You should not just use the swipe copy, by the way. It's a terrible idea because then everybody ends up sending the same email and you all look like idiots. Okay,so I took it and said, here's the swipe copy and here's what I wrote. So it learned how I even used the swipe copy. Now we only had that on 30 of the emails out of 250.

We didn't have it on a ton. So then what I did was I gave, I started training again. I said, we were promoting a particular affiliate launch. I said, please write an email promoting a webinar and I took it through the scenarios. I said, following my rules, yadda, yadda, yadda. I said on this one, I'd like a short email and here's the swipe copy they gave us.

And it spit it out , I'd give it a B minus. So I said, here's how I changed it. And now it's at the point where I just copy and paste. I'll read it out loud, like I said, but I'd probably say 7 out of 10 are exactly what ChatGPT, what OpenAI spits out, what our stuff spits out. 3 out of, 1 out of 10 I actually end up making pretty significant, it's weird, it's like I either make almost no edits or I pretty much rewrite the entire thing.

And every time though, I tell it, here's how I rewrote it. And it used to be probably 5 out of 10 I had to rewrite, then 4 out of 10, and so on and so forth. One last example, social media, same kind of thing. With social media, we just loaded about a thousand tweets. Said, here's an example of a thousand tweets that I've sent.

The words I use, the format I use, how I do it, all those things. Here are the emojis that I use, blah, blah, blah. Then I'll go in and I gave it rules, like I don't like using more than one emoji because I'm not like a super emoji freak, so don't ever use more than one. I like the link to be on its own line and yeah, you know, all these things that I taught, I said, here are the rules.

And then when we're doing a big affiliate promotion, I just say, okay, write me 25 tweets. Here's the gist of what this promotion is. It's for a webinar about this. I'll give it maybe like the email swipe and I'll say or give it the emails that I've written or it wrote. But this is all in a separate section.

This is under the social media section and I say this is a webinar. Here's some email copy that about it. Give me some, you know, give me, I'll usually have it write like 30 tweets and I'll just go through them real quick and I'll delete three or four that I don't like and we'll load the rest into our stuff.

And so, I mean, it's all happening in a matter of seconds and we're able to create. And that's the kind of content that would have taken me those three things combined. Say I'm writing a review post. Ten promotional emails, 30 tweets, three Facebook posts would have taken me two full days of my life.

I knock them out in two and a half hours. Yeah man, that's incredible. I love , I love these examples, by the way. And I think Yeah, I do think the same like when you are doing a promotion, don't use the swipe copy, but now it's so easy to take the swipe copy for a launch and then modify it.

You can, as you did, you can tell the ChatGPT or something to rewrite that, and then you can modify it as you go. You can edit a little bit afterwards and use your examples. I think that's such a time saver because then you're not, you're going to look first of all, a lot better than everyone else on this launch because a lot of people, they're in a time crunch and sometimes they're using these swipe emails, which is horrible.

It's a terrible idea because everyone else might be using it and then it's going to look bad in your inbox and Google and everything. You're going to get probably penalized as well. It's not the best if everyone using the same. The flip side is like when we're communicating with affiliates, the reality is that over the past, I've been running affiliate programs for 18 years.

Now I didn't save my first like decade of emails that I sent, but we had a file. It was about an 800 page Google doc that had just every email that we've sent over the past five, six, seven years to our affiliates for various clients. And again, they're all categorized. Like here's an email that we sent announcing a webinar.

Here's a new contest. Here's the last day and all these things. And so we can go in. We categorize them. Again, there's a lot of work on the front and it probably took us like 20 hours to do the training. But 20 hours to save 2 hours a week, it only takes you 10 weeks to make up the time.

That's the thing, you got to be willing to spend that 20 hours. And so we can now go in and say, okay, we have a we're sending it's we're announcing a new contest on the third day of OpenCart to our affiliates for the XYZ summit. We can tell it like we want to follow our normal rules.

We'll tell it, we tell it that it's for a summit. So it knows to pull from that genre of emails. And we told it that it's day three of five. So it knows, okay, it's the middle. And then we say, we want this to be a rah rah email is one of our category, rah rah, meaning like rah rah, let's go, not a, not like a just fact space.

We want this to be a pump you up one. But there's also, we have one category, it's called emotional, where we often do this at the end, where we get very emotional. We say, thank you so much for supporting us, you're gonna change lives and things, you know, things like that. So it's a different tone to maybe the middle of when you're announcing a new contest and you want to be like, yeah, go team, go you know.

So we'll tell it that. Write us the email. We'll tweak a few things. We're still training that. That's a different beast, but at least it gives us the framework for this email. And we trained it on, there's eight parts to the typical affiliate email. In fact, we have a template that we give out.

That's what I was going to say, Matt. I could imagine you have, because I have for example, for my virtual summit program and stuff I had, I have all, I had always fill in the blank templates. I can imagine you have something similar for yours. And we do. You can build a model like with ChatGPT and or OpenAI's API, basically, you can have something behind the scenes there.

And yeah, and that's kind of what you, essentially, that's what you're building a little bit with certain things you are doing. So you can do everything a lot faster. It's just, it takes a little time to tweak it and things like that. It does. And it's totally worth it though, because again, the biggest thing for creative types is just that blank page and so for our affiliate managers or me, when I'm writing an email to an affiliate or to our affiliates, like I just, if you just give me something okay, now I can take five minutes and tweak that versus taking 20 minutes to write the thing from scratch.

The other thing is just even just the little things like, when I'm go, go, go with the, I've got phone call, phone call, phone call, phone call, you know, this, that, I'm meeting with a client at 2 and then the affiliate at 2:30. And it's hard to get that email out. Sometimes I can use ChatGPT.

I can use this, this software just to get something out. And it's not even perfect, but something is better than nothing and just get some level of communication out. The other thing, just, just straight up content creation, like we took, um, my podcast episodes are typically in the 20 to 30 minute range.

We'll take those, we'll grab the, we'll grab like three podcast episodes that kind of cover the same thing and they're part of a bigger series. Um, like you wouldn't listen to a 90 minute podcast about that topic, but you would read a 7,000 word blog post you know, and so we'll just take that again, spit out the transcript, boom, load that in, tell it what we want, and it formats it, and we produced one the other day that was basically that, Is that usually a process?

Because it's quite similar to, I like doing videos first I start with a video or let's say even from this, from this session we are doing now or other ones I've done, I can take that, take the transcript or take it into some tool and I can get a blog post. I use content at scale a lot because we are doing like very in depth that's like a lot faster, but it's also, it's just replacing writers for me essentially.

So it's, quite good, but you can do the same with ChatGPT essentially. Take like youtubetranscript.com or taking this and then you can get even a summary. You can get so much written content from a longer piece of content. So I do like the podcast form or video form for that reason.

So that can turn into a month's worth of content or even more if you have a few videos. And it's so good at turning it into readable content that's not, okay, here's an example. That's not, um, that's not, you know, well on the podcast, that doesn't really drive you that nuts if I say, if I stumble over my words, but if it said that in the post, you look like an idiot and it it just does it magically, like it has learned how to take my transcripts and turn them into written content.

And it's really good at it too. Like I can take, uh, I mean, I know now with the announcement, I think the plugins are going away at some point in chat, GBT, but I have used Vox script a lot, so I take a link from my YouTube video and I tell the, tell it to just get like a summary or takeaways or action steps or something from from this session, it's so good at it.

It's amazing. Like from a long video and yeah, now I'm sure it's going to get even better as more updates come to the platform, but yeah, I can see, I can so many time saving things because usually you spent a lot of time creating the tags, the descriptions, the show notes or whatever that is.

Now all this AI can take care of that already. So if you were like someone writing show notes, I guess AI is going to replace you. Certain jobs, I think AI is replacing or at least taking over a little bit. To be honest. Yeah, and that's great. It just means you get to do different things.

Like it's never going to replace me doing a sales call with a potential client. Not like true creativity or sales and things like that. I think that's more difficult. I think you can have an AI avatar doing like a pre call or something. I've even seen some people doing that and it works quite well.

That's in the future but it works. I don't know. I haven't seen that person. Yeah, but with, again, with content, especially written content, they came there, the person, they came there to solve a problem. And if that post solves their problem, then that's a win if that, and if it, if a thousand people come there and 10 of those people that it solved the problem for are perfect ideal clients who end up signing up with us, okay, that's cool too.

But the reality is like, that's what content is meant to do. It's meant to solve the problem. And they don't necessarily, they don't necessarily want the podcast. The podcast is great for people who listen to the, my podcast. You know, we get, you know, whatever, 10.000, 12.000, downloads an episode and most of those people are fans.

They listen to every episode. We don't, no episode, any, none of my podcasts have more than like a thousand downloads, more or less than the average. So that's my fans listening. They're listening to the podcast because they want to hear my voice. The person doing a search and they find my blog post on how to create affiliate terms and conditions, they just want to know how do I do that?

And so, they're not going to listen to a podcast about it, necessarily. They want the post that kind of outlines it, sends them to a download to grab the template, they download the template, and life is good. Yeah. So that's what they're looking for. You're capturing a different audience that you wouldn't get otherwise.

And I think, as a smaller business, we are not like, you know, some big HubSpot or something can just produce a massive you know, so much content, right? But I think when now with AI, we can do a lot more. And I think that can set us apart. And I think that's just the people who are producing more content and more quality content.

It's just about, it's not just about any content, but the way you're doing it, basically in your voice, long form, or the, as many words as he needs to get the point across essentially. I think that, that is, I guess the future a little bit in content creation. AI assisted. I think some people are calling it AI optimized you know, blogging or something like that.

I've seen AIO blogging. I don't know if you heard that, like Content at Scale. I think they have some, I don't know who coined the term, but I think that's pretty cool at least. And let me just share one other thing I forgot about because a lot of people don't have I mean, I'd written the equivalent of 40 books by the time I started using AI training, you know, I, that's not even including emails.

So I'm just talking about blog posts. I'd written so many blog posts and I'd recorded before I even used OpenAI'd recorded 525 podcast episodes. I had the content, and so it was really easy for me. If you're like, well I don't have a ton of content, well number one, start writing and just at least teach it your voice a little bit.

Secondly, go look at other people you know, who you respect. And that actually is something we did with the emails. Um, I took my personal swipe file of emails from, I mean, I could, there's probably 50 people in there, Ray Edwards, Jeff Walker, Michael Hyatt, and people who've been clients, and other people that I respect, friends and just people that I follow, and I took their emails.

I said, here's an example of an email promoting a webinar that I really like. Use this in your model. Here's an example of an email that I got as a member of an affiliate program, encouraging me to promote telling me that open carts tomorrow that I really liked. Use this in your model.

And so you can even just take other people's emails. Just look at the ones that you've opened. Those are good emails. And you can say, use that as a model. Yeah, I do this all the time to analyze stuff. This is like incredible, to take a LinkedIn post by, let's say, Justin Welch, I really like his structure.

It's amazing. You can tell ChatGPT to like, analyze this and say, okay, this is the structure, here's what you do and then you can tell it to write the post that you want basically in that same format or, you know, in your case, the email that you wanted for this affiliate promotion.

I think it's just saves so much time and then you can tweak it. But still you have saved the time to come up with the exact way to do it. If that's an email that is already proven to work, why reinvent the wheel? It's like having this famous swipe file, basically, I'm sure you have a lot of stuff like that.

Yeah, that's because, like I said, I have a folder in my Gmail I mean, which is funny because I don't even use it anymore. But I have a folder in my Gmail that's got five, six hundred emails written by other people. And like I said, I just, I went through those one by one and I said, here's this is an example of an email that does this, use this.

And so it even was able to incorporate some of those, but I would even tell it like if there was a particular part of it that I didn't like, I would say, okay, use this in your model. Here's a part of the email that I don't particularly like, use this in your model, but this email is too long.

So just wanted to let you know, this is, this email is too long or this email is too whatever, but I like these aspects. With the social media posts one I literally just, when we first started loading it, I just took, you know, mine, my top performing tweets, my top performing Facebook posts and loaded those.

But then I also took, a bunch of tweets that I had bookmarked over the years. And some of these bookmarked tweets, for example, I didn't really have any bookmarked Facebook posts. I don't know how you even do that, but the bookmarked tweets, some of them were not related to my business.

They were not marketers tweets. They were maybe just funny or more, you know, what sort I'm looking for. They were more clickbaity, but I would still include those because I wanted it to see here are some other examples of really good ones. And one of the things I noticed when it started spitting out that first round is it actually really when I would read some of those tweets, I might go, huh, that's not how I would say that , but I kind of like that, like I wanted to, if I had to write 30 tweets, Navid, I wanted two or three of them to be where I go, oh, do I really want to post that?

That's a little bit controversial, a little bit you know you know, over the top, not me, but you know what, I'm going to try it or I would tweak it and get it like halfway down. And so then we, it learned and it's like, so now some of the stuff that I'm posting now, I would not say it's off brand, but it's just, it's like me times 1.2 you know, it's just a little bit more pushing the limits of what I would post.

And that's all because I shared some stuff that I bookmarked. And why did I bookmark it? Because it caught my eye, you know, that's ultimately when you think about when you're scrolling through social, you're going like this, it's, you know, you have, you, they say, you say you had three seconds to catch somebody's attention it's not even close to three seconds now it is a third of a second, if that.

And so it learns by, by that, if I bookmarked it, it mean it caught my eye, which means it was probably good. It's interesting because I think you, there's a lot of content you can create. And I think you can become more creative with the AI as well because before you could get like writer's block or something, I think there's really no excuse anymore.

If you're sitting there trying to come up with content go to ChatGPT or your favorite AI tool and use it for ideation. I'm sure you use it a lot for this to come up with headlines or hooks. I don't now. I don't just because we've trained it so well. You have a lot, but let's say, let's talk from a beginner standpoint, like you don't know too much what to do.

Let's say bonus ideas and things like that, come up with product names. It's pretty good sometimes to like give you a bunch of ideas. And then I usually don't pick them, but I pick maybe, okay, I like this word. So I matched them together. Yeah. Yeah. That's what, I did help a friend of mine who, again, he's in a situation where he only has probably uh, 25 emails that he's ever sent to his list.

You know, he's a, He's a, he's new in this world. I said, okay, well, just give it some other stuff to train, but I said, here's what you do when you do it tell it to suggest 10 subject lines and you pick the two that you like, and then you test those two. And then you go over here and when it, when , once you send it, you tell it what the winning subject line was.

And you tell it that you say, I picked these two because they're most in line with my brand, here's the one that had the best open rate. And so okay, what does it do? Now you ask for 10 the next time and they're a little bit better. And you pick two, you tell it which two you tell it, which one.

If you do that 30 times, which doesn't really take any effort. It's a lot easier to tell it to write 10 and you pick two and then do a split test than it is to try to come up with the perfect one. So if you do that 30 times after the 30th time, it's going to pretty much nail it down to the point where I usually, we usually split test everything.

So there's just no reason not to split test, right? The technology's there. You might as well have it go to the winning subject line. I don't even have it write 10 anymore. When it writes an email for me, I have it write four. Just cause I don't feel like taking an extra 12 seconds Do you split to actual copy or only the subject lines?

We only do the subject line. We use ConvertKit and it's, you can't split test the subject line and the copy. So I shouldn't say we never split test the copy. We split test the copy probably 5 percent of the time, but we always split test the subject line just cause that's the number one thing, right?

In broadcast you can do it. I think in automation it's a little more tricky. In ActiveCampaign and some advanced tools you can do it. I use also ConvertKit now, I feel it's for most creators it's enough to be honest, you're not going to spend time splitting, testing everything. Better create more content, but as I said, do what you can, right?

If you have, and with AI, you can just get more alternatives for the same thing. So you have really no excuse. And you can, and then you can also analyze your emails. You can actually upload like ConvertKit and different social media tools that give you a report so you can actually upload that and then have it analyzed this like, it's going to upload like a Excel kind of to, to the AI, to ChatGPT.

Yeah, that's what we did. Yeah, you get like that, you get drafts and stuff like that from this. It's pretty cool. Yeah, it's awesome. Yeah, like I said, we gave it our top like 10 or 12 percent of emails. We trained it on that. So now, I mean, instantly like, we've, we've pretty much avoided those bombs.

Like, We know like, our, our average open rate was say 28%, I think Um, and we, you know, we'd have some that were 33, 34, and then we'd have some that were like 20. Is this for outreach or for your, what kind of emails was this for? This is to, to my email list for This is to your overall email list.

Okay. Yeah. Marketing list. So just to give you some perspective, like we would average 28, but the range would be from like 22 to 34, right? What we've avoided Is our high end is still around 33, 34, but our average is now 30 because we've eliminated those 22s and now our floor is like 25, 26%.

So we've cut and it constantly gets just a little bit better. Every quarter it's up like 0.2 percent because it's learning and it's getting better. It's like, okay, this is what, so again, we go back in and we tell it like once a month, we'll go in and pick and say here are three, four, five best emails from this month, use those, like here's what it was, blah, blah, blah.

And we train it just to learn to get a little bit better. Over time, it's going to get pretty darn close to perfect. It finds those elements that are, and we also tell it what the worst ones were. I forgot to mention that earlier. We do tell them what the bad ones were. And it learns, okay, There's, I don't know, I don't even know.

The thing is, my brain is not smart enough to figure out that, okay, maybe it is picked up. I'd be interested that an email that is nine sentences long does poorly, but an email that's eight does great. Okay. I would not notice that. I'm not smart enough to figure that out. Or there are certain keywords that those poor performing emails have the good performing ones don't.

Maybe you have some words that trigger spam or something, who knows? It will figure that out and it will learn to avoid those over time. Again, your floor gets better and better and better, so that eventually what it's going to do is it's pretty, it's going to become pretty predictable where your open rates you know, you're still going to have a ceiling that's probably not going to go up a ton.

It's not that it's writing better emails, it's just not writing bad emails. And so my floor keeps going up and eventually it's going to be pretty predictable where my open rate is probably going to be consistently between 31 and 34 instead of between 22 and 34. My click through rate is going to, you know, we, again, we said here are the best clicks and this is what this one had a 1.9 percent click through rate.

This one had a 0.8. You figure out what the difference is. And once it gets, once you tell it like here are 10 or 20 really bad ones and here are 10 or 20 really good ones, it starts to learn and eventually, instead of having a range from like 0.7 to 1.9, open rate or click through rates will be like 1.4 to 1.9 Yeah, for sure.

And just to ask you about this, because I'm sure if someone watching this, they might have a course or they have some products and they want affiliates and that's what you do, you attract new affiliates for people, very big names, but they have audiences, they have network and you can tap into your network, of course, but if someone is new or they're you know, in the early stages of their business, where like, how would you go about actually getting a new partners for I mean, a summit is, I guess, a little easier with speakers and stuff, but like, let's say a course or something like that to attract new partners.

I would go to mattmcwilliams.com/first100, FIRST100. Download that. It actually walks you through all of that Navid. What's your best tip to do it? Yeah. The short version of that is number one. I'm going to look and see who's promoting similar products. Similar summits, similar books, Amazon makes that really easy for us, right?

Who's promoting a similar course, a similar membership, a similar shoe, a similar whatever, right? Who's promoting a similar product? That's the first thing I'm going to look for. I'm going to reach out to them and I'm going to talk about how my product is similar, but how it is different.

I'm going to keep the email very, very short. We talk about in that report, I call it the five sentence rule. With our clients, you are not allowed to use more than five sentences in an initial reach out. So whether you use AI or not, like it's a five sentence email, what I would do, here's what I would do, I would take some of the there's opportunity when you go there, you can get the swipe file, I would take some of those emails that I give in the swipe file, and then I would tell, here's how I write, here's a template for the, how to reach out, give me 20 different emails that I can send that are vastly different to reach out to potential affiliates and start taking, you know pick five or 10 of those and use those.

Follow up, follow up, follow up, follow up, follow up. If they don't respond, you keep following up at least 10 times, about every eight to 10 days. You follow up for a flipping 90 day period of time, 10 times and then you take a few months off, then you follow up again. I cannot tell you how many times I have sent more than 10 emails more than 10 whatever Facebook messages, and then finally they responded.

I've had so many speakers say yes, and it takes time even to schedule. They have a lot of, I know all about this. It takes time. Even if someone commits to something, you need to follow up with them a lot of times and you cannot get, you cannot take things personal. Usually it's because they're busy, they have things going on.

People are checking in the inbox. I do this later, but then they forget because the inbox filled up, you know, it's, it's a lot of thing like that No offense, but you are not their priority. Their business is their priority. Your job is to just stay in front of them. I tell people all the time with our affiliates, what we're trying to do is just keep our.

Let's say the launch is six months from now. I am not trying to get them fired up about my launch six months out. They will burn out. But I don't want them to completely forget about it because we're exposed to thousands. I've heard statistics from 3 to 5,000 marketing messages a day.

We're exposed to all the things. We've got conversations with our family, our friends, our Facebook feed. The list goes on and on, right? We drive, we see billboards, we listen to the radio, we listen to whatever. And we have so many ideas going through our heads. Give me about eight minutes, I'll forget about that you even exist, Navid.

But a couple weeks from now, I get an email from you that just reminds me that the summit is six months away, three months away, whatever. And I go, Oh, that's right and maybe I go check my calendar. Do I have that on my content calendar? Ooh, I don't. We had this happen. I'm in this business.

I do this for a living. We're promoting something in February. I forgot to put it on our content calendar. I agree. I told the guy, he's a friend of mine. I said, I will promote you. I am excited. We're going to send this many emails and we're going to do this. We're going to do a webinar together.

I'm going to have them on the podcast. None of it is actually on my calendar. Why? Cause I never told our operations manager who just had a baby to add it to the calendar so I could pull it for him. And we could have gone and scheduled anything else. I am so sorry, friend. I forgot about your launch, but you know what?

The other day, he sent me a DM and just said, Hey man, just got good news. I got so and so who's speaking at this event that you're promoting, you know, and you're going to be at. I'm really excited. And I went, Oh shoot. I looked up our content calendar and I was like, that's not, I was like, I told Robbie, I said, add that to our content calendar here are the dates.

You know, So just staying front of mind with people sometimes triggers them. I mean, Gosh, that's like a whole thing. Like This is like a, this is usually like an entire weekend where I talk about like how to stay in front of your affiliates, you know, but that's, I mean, you just gotta stay.

You're really good at that, Matt. I've seen you come, you are a master, but I would say like, how do you, it's one thing to find your affiliates. You can do, use some of the strateg shared of course, but I think what is hard when you are a newer, newer in your market or maybe you're just coming in with this course or something, is to make it stand out.

Why should they promote me? Like , how do you position that you should, you just, is just volume or what It's part of the numbers game. If you are an industry leader, let's just say you're the Tony Robbins of your niche, right? He's a former client, with Tony, we could reach out to 100 people and 40 of them would say yes, because it's Tony.

Right. If you're not Tony, you're a nobody, you reach out to 100 people and 3 say yes. So you got to reach out to a thousand people, so part of it is a numbers game and then you get 20 of those thousand and they say yes, you work your butt off to help them. Now the word starts to spread.

Now you have a little bit of momentum. Now you can go back to those 980 and you get 30 of the 980, now you have 50 and there, there comes a point, this is the cool thing about affiliates unlike any other form of marketing. Because if you can get to the point where you saturate a market, lemme give you an example and then I'll come back to my point there.

When I worked with Shutterfly, when I took over Shutterfly's affiliate program back in 2010, it was 2011, they were doing about 15 million a year. Three years later, we took it over $325 million. All right, how we got there was I focused on one, first I focused on one subset of affiliates.

That was what we called mommy bloggers, right? They hate to be called that, but that's what we call them. Then I moved on to photographers and I worked with, then I moved on to nonprofits. Okay. But I spent six months where I focused on nothing but the mommy bloggers and it got to the point where we had a couple hundred mommy bloggers to start with.

And then we had a couple thousand and then 5.000. I'm not exaggerating mommy bloggers. If you would, We would send out an email saying new promo code. Boom. There would be 2,500 blog posts within an hour that you could find on Google that had that promo code on it and it got to the point where we were so saturated in the mommy blogger market that every other mommy blogger started coming to us.

I worked my butt off to get the first thousand to 1500. But now if, think about it, if you're a mommy blogger, who do you follow? Other mommy bloggers. And if you see one other mommy blogger promoting Shutterfly, you don't go, gosh, I gotta sign up for that. If you see five, you don't go I gotta sign up for that, but if you see 25 other mommy bloggers.

You go, I got to sign up for that. And it got to the point where if you were a new mommy blogger, you had three steps. Number one, register your domain. Number two, get your hosting set up. Number three, sign up with Shutterfly as an affiliate. We dominated the mommy blogger market because we got to the point where if you were a mommy blogger, you saw every other mommy blogger.

It felt like promoting. So you had to go sign up. Then we did the same thing with photographers. And specifically, we started off with wedding photographers. We got I worked my butt off to get the first 30. I had to get on the phone with them and sell them on it. And then we got 30 and then we got a hundred and then they started telling others and the next thing you know, again, wedding photographers follow other wedding photographers.

They see all these wedding photographers, photographers promoting Shutterfly. So like, well, we should sign up. And so you pick this one area and you just saturate it. You go after a specific type of affiliate and you get a bunch of them. Then they start to come to you. And I'm going to tell you, just to be honest, it's hard work for the first three to six months.

Then you hit that tipping point and then they start reaching out to you. And next thing you know, you're like, we just got another 50 affiliates this month and we didn't even reach out to any of them. They all came to us. But you got to get to that point first. Yeah, absolutely. I think it's a few things that like when I started, of course, with summits, you don't have like, they are speaking usually the affiliates you get on board is usually your speakers.

You get them on board for the summit and a handful of them will promote your summit because they're a speaker. But I find it's if you have a new course, it's a little bit more difficult because they maybe they haven't taken your course. They don't know about your course. If you are more famous or in your market or more well known, you're like Tony Robbins.

I mean That's an extreme example. He's like world famous, right? But like, even like if you are, you know, just an authority in your niche and you have a course that's been selling, like in your case, you're an expert in affiliate marketing or me with virtual summits or something, then people will know about this and they will, okay, I can promote this or I can like check it out, you know, get access and then promote this.

But if you are newer, it's more difficult I find to get people to just out of the right out of the gate promote. I find like starting the other spectrum is easier when you actually promote someone else or adding value. I think you talked a little bit about that. You can actually add value to other people.

I think you even did that in the early days as well. You, when you started building your personal brand, you promoted quite a lot of people and you were up there on the leaderboard, even though you had a small audience. So maybe you can speak to that a little bit. Yeah, that's another great way.

We've actually got a client now that, she's actually, she's one of the speakers, Amy Yamada. And I told her, I said, Amy, um, you know, you're going to have to promote more things. Because we got to get the word out about you. And then she started getting on these leaderboards and I was like, okay, here's what you do.

And I gave her the email template. I said, you reach out, you respond to that email because people read replies. Right? And I said, then you put the, so let's say she finished in ninth place on this leaderboard. She did a summit where she was like in fourth place. I said, reach out to everybody else in the top 10 and you put their email in the two field and you say, congratulations on you know, finishing in the top 10, boom boom.

She's starting to get people that way. So that can be one way is if you start promoting people, not only the people you promote, could they potentially be good partners, but the other people on the leaderboard. So just to recap, number one, you promote other stuff and you start getting anywhere in the leaderboard.

You can be in 17th place it doesn't matter, if you're in 17th place in the leaderboard, don't reach out to the number one through five, but reach out to the people who are down kind of around you and just try to get to know them. Maybe see if you could do a webinar swap. So let's say you sent a hundred leads to an affiliate launch..

The person ahead of you probably sent a hundred and five, probably not much more. But what if you each sent a hundred to each other? Now you've grown your list by a hundred and so have they. And so as you do that and you start to level up, because as you're growing your list and you go from 3,000 people to 5,000 people, now you go from 17th place to 13th place.

So now you get to work with those people from 10th to 15th. And now you're sending each other 200 leads. So now you have 8,000 people on your list, and now you're in 10th place. So now you're with the people from 5th to 13th. And now you're sending each other 500 people. And now, now it's growing really fast and you start, the numbers start getting bigger.

Promoting other people, it's a great way. Speaking at summits, if you're an expert on something, many summit people, it's, yes, they want you to promote it and they want to make, you know, money off of it. But sometimes you get a really good speaker who's just, we call them when we talk about summits, we talk about how you got like your headliners, these are like the one or two speakers that you don't care if they promote or not.

If you get Tony Robbins for your personal growth summit, you don't care if he's so much as even sends a tweet because he's Tony freaking Robbins and he's, his giant head is on your page and it's awesome, right? Then the middle 80 percent of the speakers need to promote, but that bottom few you can have one or two that are kind of the flip side where they're an amazing speaker.

They don't have a huge audience. Maybe they promote, maybe they don't, but they don't generate many leads, but they, they show up, they participate in the chat. If you have a chat, if there's a Facebook group there and they're answering questions, they give great bonuses and they're just so happy to be there.

And if that's you, if you're that speaker who maybe doesn't have a huge audience, but you get invited to speak then you connect with those other speakers and you start to grow from there. So there's all kinds of opportunities that promoting other people can give you. And one of those is just connecting with the other promoters, the other affiliates, the other, the other speakers.

That's such good advice, and I think people don't do this enough. I think people are just like, randomly part of it. I've never seen anybody do it. Not one person has ever done it to me. I am telling you right now, the only people who have ever done it are me and our clients. Nobody has ever done it.

No, it's really interesting. And I've shared it so many times. Yeah, and there's another thing I've been thinking about a lot. And there's so many ways, even if you are not someone who has a big audience. You're, let's say you're hosting a summit or whatever that is your part of a launch.

You can also, you can see where, how to add value to them. You can leave a review on their LinkedIn. You can do other things. You can review their products. There's so many ways to add value to other people. It might take years to get someone you know let's say Stu McLaren or like big names to promote you in your industry.

It might take years. You need to build that relationship or whatever. But as you said, people around you, they are growing as well, so maybe they are building an audience at the same time as you, and they are growing quickly, so they might have 100,000 people on their email list eventually, and then you are best friends basically online, and they can promote each other, so that's usually how it starts a lot of the times, like a lot of these people promoting each other, They have known each other since the beginning and they are having, they are in this circle you know all about this.

Like they are promoting each other basically, Jeff Walker, Ryan Levesque, Stu McClaren, they always promote each other's launches. It's like that and it's going to be hard to take their spot because they have been doing that for years. You need to take someone else's spot. I'm doing a webinar this week.

Uh, It's a guy I've known for nine years. We were, we reached out to each other initially because we were both like at the bottom of a leaderboard, but we were on there, wanted to get to know each other. We were in a mastermind together for you know, a year or so, just us and a couple other friends when we both had maybe 2000, 3000 subscribers.

Um, I mean, just, we're two days into the promotion as we're recording this within a four day promo and he's already sent over a thousand leads it'll be a big promo for us and it all comes from a friendship that started eight and a half years ago, just just connecting, and we're both nobodies.

So and he promotes, he promoted my book. He's, we do a webinar together about once a year. I promote his stuff. Um, and it, but yeah, I mean, it came from nothing essentially. I think the first webinar that he did or that I did for his audience, I think 58 people registered and like 12 or 15 showed up or whatever you know 20 people showed up, something like that.

And I sold like one course. Maybe two, and made like a thousand dollars, all that time and effort and made like a thousand bucks and, he made 400 whole dollars. But I think the first time I promoted him, I remember I got like a 300 affiliate commission, you know, it was small, but now we'll exchange close to six figures together this year.

I'M glad you shared these examples because I think people are sometimes going for, you know, to they, they're reaching out of their league a little bit, like that's not good as you start, I mean, you can go for it for a summit or something like that, that's fine, but like to go promote your course that is like not really established is gonna be almost impossible to do that.

Yeah. And I don't like to say anything is impossible, but it's better to, it is better to focus your efforts around the people that actually will. Give, get you some results and you can also help them and you can level up together. But interested to hear some, maybe some trends or some things in the affiliate marketing, especially now in the world of AI, anything you see is shifting.

We talked a lot about the content creation part and how you're using AI. Yeah, it ties in with, I just see people able to do more. One of the biggest holdups was um, time and taking away focus. And now that we've eliminated that, you can create those emails and those review posts and those social media posts.

And I don't want to say in one, one hundredth of the time, but maybe one eighth of the time, let's say that one, even. One fifth of the time, uh, which is I think probably accurate for us. That's a big time saving. So the time commitment to doing an affiliate promo is now gone. I'll give you an example.

We were in the midst of an affiliate promo that we're doing. So we're promoting somebody else. The launch started two weeks ago and it ends in three days. So it's a 17 day launch. Now in part because our operations manager was having a baby, as I mentioned earlier, and so we had to get stuff done way in advance.

We had the entire promo, all the social media posts, all the emails, the blog posts, everything was all done two and a half, three weeks in advance. I forget, like we used to do promos in the past, I'd be like figuring it all out and I'm writing it last minute and it's Oh, where are we on the leader?

I've gone entire days and forgotten we're even promoting this thing because we did it so far in advance. That's one of the biggest trends I've seen is number one, just the time commitment is down because of AI. Number two, people are doing stuff more in advance and they're in a good way.

They're getting it like as an affiliate manager, I would much rather somebody scheduled their 10 emails in advance than try to do them last minute. In a not as good way, they're less reactive and not as engaged in the promotion. So they don't evolve or um, uh, what's the word I'm looking for?

They don't react as much and maybe get something in last minute. You have Facebook groups and stuff like that before, right? When I've been part of your promotions. Do you still do you find that effective still or? Yeah, it still works. People are just, they're, to say they are less reactive and less, changing less doesn't mean that they're not doing it at all.

But like I said, with this particular promotion, because of some other stuff, like I forget that it's even going on, just cause we did everything so far in advance. So again, it's a good, it's a good news, bad news. As an affiliate manager, it's frustrating when somebody says they're going to send 10 emails and they only send six when they don't go all out.

So getting things done earlier um, is a help in that regard. As an affiliate manager, what we've had to do, it used to be, gosh, 10 years ago, send out the copy the day of for a couple of days in advance, maybe, and then about six, seven years ago, we started sending out like five days early.

And then about four years ago, we started sending out a week early. And now we send out copies sometimes a month in advance. Like we do not want them to have to worry about it. And I know as an affiliate, when I'm promoting things, if I don't have it at least at least two weeks in advance, I start to be like, Hey guys, where's the copy?

When am I going to get the copy? Do you have the copy ready? When can I get it? When can I get it? When can I get it? And it's like, Whoa, dude, chill out. But I'm no, I'm ready to write this now. We're two weeks ahead on our content. I'm ready to write this stuff. I'm ready to get this done and get it going and I need my copy.

So, um Those are probably the biggest trends I'm seeing. The only other one that comes to mind it's just, uh, you know, all the, just the use of, microcommunication and what I mean by that is not just email lists and blog posts and podcasts, but actually using things like DMs um, to reach out to, if you've got a Facebook group, reaching out to every member via DM and getting them into uh, an affiliate funnel or onto a webinar and stuff like that.

So the use of microcommunication, one to one use of text, we have a text platform and so if you text me, then I can communicate with you, but also it's a way for me to communicate with you one on one, even though for me, it's a blast it's, I'm sending it to everybody, but one on one and other micro communications and again, AIt, AI, we, the way that we use AI for that is if I've got different segments, again, I can use AI to say, Hey, here's an example of a message I want to send.

Now, write this for, let's say you're in a health and fitness. I was helping a friend of mine do this the other day. He's in the health and fitness niche. And I said we want to send different messages to young women, moms, who are like young kids, older moms, senior citizens. Those are the four basic female groups.

And then within the, uh, the men group, we had like five different categories. So it's nine different messages he wrote one message and used his trained AI that I helped him train to then spit out nine different DMs that his team could send out from him based on when they go into their system and say, send me like, here's all my senior women, boom.

Send them this DM and they did not use a tool to do that, just to be clear. They actually did do it one by one because it works better than sending it as a blast, you know, DM. But again, it's a specific message for that. It's, it feels like it's for that person because that individual senior woman got, a specific message, it was geared towards her that the most senior, it talked about bone health and bone strength, which a 28 year old woman probably doesn't give a crap about bone health and bone strength, but a 64 year old woman does.

And then the landing page in the image that in the preview, it showed a woman in her sixties, not a mom with a infant . So even in just the DMs you're able to get like super targeted. And again, We had to write the first message and kind of craft like, that narrative of what we wanted this to say, but then we said, now rewrite this for this group, and it saved us, you know one eighth of the time writing all those extra messages.

That's awesome. And I think another thing is the AI avatars that might, help a little bit in the future for especially like blog posts and things like that. You can have some, you can have like your AI trained and then someone is coming there and if they have a question, you can do personalized recommendations, they can have a chat with you.

I think that's going to be incredible. I think that you can already do to some extent with certain tools. I think that's, that's just going to go, imagine like when they can see you as well, like when you have Matt McWilliams popping up there and giving advice on the terms and conditions, but you're sleeping or something like that.

That would be something, I think that, that is what's going to happen because you can, I think as I saw like a webinar with Stu McLaren and Searchie basically, he's also, you know I think what they are they have like Wisdom AI, and they are. I think in the future they're gonna have, so they can probably see the avatars and stuff like that, and you have the voice and everything cloned there, so I think that could be pretty incredible to just have that on your website, and they can chat with you and things like that, like you are a daring person, but of course they, they would know it's a bot, but also there's like less, uh, less pressure for them, they can ask any question they want you know, sometimes they want to ask They

might not want to ask dumb questions, you know like dumb questions because they think it's maybe too basic, but they can ask a bot this that's just sitting there. I think that might be the future, but two final questions, what's your number one piece of advice for a creator or entrepreneur who's looking to get started to implement AI in their business and, or get started with affiliate marketing as well in relations to this?

For me, it came down to just documenting the rules, and just starting to load content in and being willing to, I mean again, we had thousands of things, but if you've got a few things, you can train it 50 percent with five pieces of content, just take five, just take blog posts, just as one example, give it your five blog posts, and it will begin to learn.

Now when you tell it, write a blog post about this, blah, blah, blah, you will have to edit 50 percent of it. But then you tell, just be willing to spend the time to say, here's how I edited it. It's no different than I did when I hired my first copywriter. I said, here's how I would say what you said.

Boom, boom, boom. And I recorded videos showing him the differences. So you do that. The very next time it'll be two or 3 percent better and be willing to get two or 3 percent better with every iteration. If you get two or 3 percent better every time for about 50 times, you're pretty close, pretty darn close to a hundred percent.

And I can promise you, like, whatever you think it's, if you think it's not worth the time, it is absolutely worth the time. It might feel like your first 10 hours doing it was not worth the time, but somewhere around that 20 hour mark is what I found. You suddenly go, oh my gosh, I am saving so much time.

I'm so glad I took the time to, to do this. So start before you think you're ready. Load what you can to train it and be willing to teach it and it'll get there, or like I said, just use other people's stuff. You like so and so's writing style, go, go load that, go grab 20 of their blog posts and say, okay, here's a style, that is one alternative though, although I do recommend when you load other people's content that you weight it and you tell it to look at your style 70 percent and take 30 percent from theirs and let it figure that out just as a rule.

That is the easiest way to get into affiliate marketing because you don't have to have an email list or social media following.

To write a review post that can rank pretty high on Google and start generating some affiliate traffic and some affiliate revenue. Are you going to write one that generates 20,000 a month first time? Probably not. But what if it generated? 40 a month, every month for the next five years.

And then you wrote another one that generated 100 a month. Pretty soon you're starting to get up there and occasionally you'll write one, we have some that make us over 2,000 a month and it's been doing that since the late 2000 , like 2018, 2019, those add up really fast and quite frankly, make up about 10 or 20 percent of our annual revenue.

It's kind of nice. That's awesome. And yeah, some of these posts, they're less competitive as well. So definitely, I like these recommendations. I leave some links in the description as well.
