How to build your email list using ai-powered tools, with Michal Leszczynski

Hey, it's Navid here. And in this session, we are going to talk about how to build your email list fast using AI. And I'm here with Michal from GetResponse. He's the Content Marketing and Partnerships Manager over there, and also the sponsor of the AI for Creators Summit. So I really appreciate them for coming on board.

And he has prepared some really good stuff. And I think GetResponse is really well positioned because they have a lot of AI features that maybe some other email providers, they haven't really got into too much yet. So, we are going to demonstrate this and also give you some great examples throughout this session.

So, warm welcome, Michal. Hey, Navid. Thanks for having me. Absolutely. So, let's kick this off with, just give us a brief overview of what it is that you do, and like how you got into the world of email marketing and kind of the evolution to now we're here with AI and how that affects everything.

Sure. So I got into email marketing almost 12 years ago. Straight after uni, I came to GetResponse. So this is the first company actually I joined right after the university. I wanted to do digital marketing, because I studied strategic marketing and consulting, and I wanted to work for an IT company.

So I got lucky because I got into a place that was already serving international clients. I was already doing email marketing and back then it was just email marketing. So simple email, simple autoresponders, stuff like that. And since then, the world has changed quite, quite a bit.

And I think it actually sped up even more so in the last 12 months because AI has come to it. And even though like we had the full roadmap set up for GetResponse last year, when we first saw the AI features or actually the capabilities of AI from OpenAI, we were amazed and we had to rethink the strategy moving forward because we thought that this is going to change quite a few things for marketers.

So yeah, I think, you know, the transition is pretty big and it's speeding up, for sure. Now I find it interesting, like some companies, they are making a rapid transition and some are taking their time a little bit. So like how, what have you guys worked with at GetResponse? Like , because obviously with the news with ChatGPT, the OpenAI, and even now, even more with the GPTs coming out recently on the Dev Day, there's so many things happening in the AI world.

I think the email marketing world has been a little bit stagnant for kind of a lot of years. I mean, everything has been the same. We have the automations. We can do a lot of stuff with email marketing, which is very powerful and GetResponse has some great features. But I think with AI, you just kind of put in gasoline on all of this and you can actually make it, or make things a lot faster.

And I'm just curious to see kind of what you guys are working on and what you're seeing some future trends might be in the email marketing space. For sure. So luckily, it wasn't our first rodeo with AI because we played around with it two or three years ago when creating our website builder, which was already creating customized websites, but without the copy at first.

And when OpenAI emerged, we saw a lot of opportunities to actually speed up the things that are mundane or take a lot of time for marketers. So writing content, writing copy, creating the pages, we saw that there is a lot of the things that we take a lot of time on and time with and they don't necessarily add too much value.

So right now we see a lot of opportunity in just creating at maximum speed. Emails, email campaigns, websites, landing pages, even paid ads. And from what we saw already with our existing users, is that it speeds up the whole process so much that people are able to actually send out an email campaign within 20 minutes, which seems quite a lot on its own, but if you are talking about new users that haven't used any platform before, or this platform before, 20 minutes is fast.

And imagine that you're going to be able to do these things yourself with everything. So for example, our team outside of GetResponse uses ChatGPT quite a lot to create content, to summarize content, to create banners for PPC campaigns, to outline the courses that we're writing or creating.

It is helping us out throughout the process and I see, like, inside the platform, it will only be bringing more value to the users in the future. That's awesome. But do you see any, I guess, negatives by using AI in email marketing and building your email list? Is there anything that you'd like to share there?

Something to think about to maybe do better or some mistakes you've already seen people making when they are trying to integrate AI into their email marketing mix? Yeah, I think it's the same sort of like, with automation. People think it's set it and forget it. You're going to click two or three buttons and it's going to do everything for you.

And I think it's the same with content generation through AI and email generation through AI. You cannot just leave it on its own. You cannot automate all the things for you on autopilot because you actually have to go through these emails, landing pages, whatever you create. And make them all, make them your own.

So add your brand, add your language there, tweak the language or add your offers so that they actually seem, they fit your brand. That's what I'm worried about in general with AI, that people are just going to think that this is going to do everything for them and it's just gonna create a lot of mediocre content, a lot of mediocre email campaigns, you know, rinse and repeat for everyone.

I think generally, the audience would just get disinterested. They would lose trust to general, generally to marketers. So that's my biggest worry, but that's the whole point of my team. Content, education, to actually tell people that this is just an assistant. This is not going to do everything for you.

I love that you share that, and I've said a lot that you should see AI as an assistant, and you should embrace it in this way. Like, for example, you should, I think AI enhances your creativity in a way, because you are actually, you don't have as much writing blocks, you can actually use that to your advantage, but if you're using that to, not, replacing you as a creator, I think that's a problem, right?

So, if you're just like, writing eBooks and things like that, and there's no input from you as the creator, then we have a problem. But I think if you're leveraging for testing multiple subject lines, or, trying different hooks in your email campaigns and stuff like that, or the same for the landing pages, think that is the right way to do it, and I'm sure this is also how you guys are approaching this in GetResponse and what you're seeing kind of a lot of your clients and/or customers are doing as well.

For sure. Let me just give you an example. So we just this month launched an affiliate marketing course that we were working on last month. And we actually used AI a lot throughout the process. So when we came up with this idea that we want to target this audience, come up with a course, we talked to a consultant that gave us some hints on the topics that we should be covering.

But then together with them, we actually used AI to generally generate the outline for the course, not to actually guide us what we should do, but just to make sure that everything that we defined that as important is inside of the course. So we use AI to come up with a good hook for the course, make sure that the outline or the content of the course is good.

And then yes, we generated the emails, the videos, we recorded them ourselves as humans, where we help, we use AI to help us out to make sure that the content is going to be valuable to the audience that we wanted to target. Beginners, people that don't know anything about this specific thing.

We definitely use AI there a lot. And I think marketers in general shouldn't be worried about it. Was this a free course or was it a paid course, this one? It was a free course, so it was videos plus emails, and it's a free course that people can sign up through, sign up for, and just...

But this is a great example, because we are going to talk about, like, how do you grow your email this fast? You're actually creating something of really amazing value here, right? And you can use, I mean, you, so let's break this down a little bit as one example, like, how you did this.

Because I thought, yeah, a paid course, that's kind of a similar process, but you need to have maybe a different mechanism to sell it. This is actually to build your email list, at GetResponse in this case. So yes, break it, break down kind of the steps you took to create this one from the initial process to coming up with the idea, to then creating everything and then building the list from this email course.

Sure. So... What's the video course by the way? Was it a video? Sorry. Was it a video course or was it a email course? It's an email course with videos inside them. The emails are the delivery system, but the videos themselves contain the valuable content. We actually were targeting this audience for quite a while.

We've got, I think, 15 to 20 articles already on the blog. We see a lot of traction on the affiliate topics and we've got a program that's been on the market for 15 years. We know the audience quite a bit, but myself, I've never created content for them in the past. Just because it's a separate team on the marketing team.

So we decided, okay, let's do something for them. We see from the surveys of the people that use our platform, that they are quite often new affiliates. They don't know what to do. They don't know the different models, how they're going to get paid, how do they promote affiliate links, et cetera.

We thought, okay, let's do something for them. We started chatting with a consultant that told us, actually that wrote for us an article, Affiliate Marketing for Beginners. That was the step one for us. This is the article that's already working well. How can we turn it into a course?

So we then turned to the ChatGPT and said, okay, we want to create a course on affiliate marketing, this is our audience. Please come up with the topics that we should be covering and put them in the right order. So then we got an outline. And from that, we decided, okay, let's make sure that all the content that's in that article, plus our own knowledge from what we know.

For example, one was, one module was about email marketing, the other one was about setting up a domain. We don't have an article about that, so we needed to buy a domain, install WordPress, etc. We were using the guidelines from ChatGPT to guide us through that and then we decided actually to put it together, behind the landing page, which we created using, actually we redid one of our existing templates, but initially the first template that was created, was created with AI.

Just a question on this, do you have a kind of this app so we can showcase for people on the screen? Sure, sure. So, And this is like now you see inside GetResponse. We're going to demonstrate some of the AI features in a bit here. Well, okay, this is the core. So maybe do you have a ChatGPT as well?

Maybe we can showcase some strategies you use for writing the copy and things like that. Maybe GetResponse even have some features for do that. I don't know if you used your own tool for this. Sure. So we actually, we have a ChatGPT account separately that we use as a marketing team to let's say battle or some topics, you know, go over some topics.

I'm not going to share that, but inside GetResponse, if you wanted to actually create a landing page for that, you could just have... Guaranteed but maybe you can break down what AI features do you guys have currently? You have some generative AI features. I'm sure there's some other AI stuff that goes on, but for sure, it's like the front facing things that your users can use.

For sure. So you can generate landing pages, generate emails, generate webinar titles, generate paid ads, Google search ads, and even web push notifications, the copy for web push notifications, all inside GetResponse, all using AI. This is just generate, they're going to generate like the new content for you.

You cannot tweak it for now, so that's coming soon. So the text assistant is coming soon, but for now you can generate new stuff. You want to showcase something with how it can look like for let's start with a landing page because you need that for signing up and we, I mean, could you generate something like you had for your email course?

Let's say you wanted to have an email course. Could that be possible to generate? Let's give it a try. So I've created a few landing pages in the past for fitness industry, for example. But let's wait to do something here. So, what I did, I chose the AI landing page editor. So let me see what the, it's gonna show me the industry I'm in.

So what I want to do is describe your product or service affiliate marketing course for beginners who want to start their first online marketing venture. Free email course with eight lessons. Let's see how it goes. This is live, so... This is actually recommending, oh, we're in the, oh sorry.

We're in the website builder, not landing page creator. Let me go back. This is actually gonna generate with AI, the whole website for you, which we could use. But for now we were talking about a specific campaign, right? In the landing page. So let's go back. So we are, we're actually in landing pages, so...

Okay. Ah, okay. So UI changed slightly. Okay. So affiliate marketing course. This you have access to right inside GetResponse, basically everything, all this feature. And I'm sure it's going to improve it. The new models and stuff like that, but this is based on GPT 4, right? Currently.

Yes. Yes. Depending on the language. So some languages we have 3.5, some of them are based on 4, depending on which language you're using. Because sometimes GPT 3.5 is well, it's much faster and it's good enough for some languages. But with Polish, for example, it's not good enough, so we have to have 4 there.

For English, what do you have for the English? I think it's 4, but I cannot, you know, I cannot check it right now. It just gets better output usually, but yeah, maybe we can confirm this. If people are interested, we can for sure let you know. For sure. Okay, so let me see. Okay, this is, it asks you which modules you want on your landing page.

For example, you can have a chat, a contact form, sign up form, video for example. Cookie banner, let me see, well, let's add a testimonial as well. Then we can choose our color scheme for the landing page. You can add your own custom one. I'm just going to go with a simple one. And this is my, I need to provide...

But what you guys offer is mainly you have the landing page features for collecting lead and stuff. It's not like a full website, right? It's just the lead capture. Actually, we do both. So the website builder lets you build a simple website as well for consultants, coaches , fitness professionals.

Okay, we need something quick up, you need like to put something about yourself, but not like a full featured site with blog and stuff, then probably ... So the blog is coming soon, but... Yeah, blog as well. So you're gonna be like, I mean, there's some other tools that have like an all in one.

So you get, you're making it like easy for someone who want to get it up and running. So I think it's a smart move because you are positioning yourself next to other all in one, all in one platforms, which is kind of, I guess, that's the move you are going for. Yeah, a lot of our audience are, you know, small.

Let's say, one man army kind of consultants, agencies, freelancers, so they need all the tools in one place. They don't want to pay for all the integrations. So you can preview actually the layouts here. You can see whether this is something that you want to use. And you can, of course, customize it.

So what I said with AI, generally remember that this is your assistant. So let's go with the first one. I just think there's room for improvement with like auto generated websites. They also have 10Web on this series, and I feel that they do a great job, you know. But it's like, would I use it myself?

Like, would I use an auto generated landing page? Probably not, because I have a great, would you be able to do my summit page with AI? No, you can't. It's like too much, too much design. But you can do very simple stuff with AI. But I do think there's like, here's something, an interesting thing I spoke to Jan about this too, and I think it's like, there's a lot of templates already readily available that probably look so I don't see so much, I don't always see so much use for the AI in website yet because it's not that good.

You can't get a template that's usually more beautiful sometimes, you know what I mean? Like even in GetResponse I'm sure you have some templates that you have like both AI stuff, but you might have temp- I think I'm sure you have templates as well, right? Yeah, actually... You can show this later.

Maybe you can show the difference. That's spot on. So I completely agree with you. I actually prefer to use templates because they were created by designers. That's why I'm waiting for the text assistant to come up because it's going to, I'm gonna be able to pick that one of the most beautiful templates created by designers and then use a text assistant to help me tweak the copy path, so I can...

I see, what I would like is that, like, I have a lot of pages, let's say I wanted to do it for, let's say I have a summit for AI for Creators, and I wanted to do a summit about digital writing or something like that. I want to do a completely different summit, but I want to keep the same structure, but I don't want to add all this stuff again.

I just want to have, I want to tweak some things, and AI can just spit out the same stuff, but with a new copy I need and stuff like that. And I think that would be doable quite soon. I mean, I can do it with AI still, but doing it with sections and whatever. But I would just like the AI generated the website again, like in the tool I'm using.

So I think that would be something that I could see. It's like replicating already existing design, but like really replacing a really high quality designer for a website. I think it's a little bit difficult, right? Yeah, that's true. That's true. But for example, I'm working on some services pages for an agency.

I have one services page for Google Analytics, uh, consulting already written out all the copy, all our approach, etc. I want to do the same for CDP now. I don't need to rewrite the whole thing. I can just provide that as a source to ChatGPT and tell it. Tell it, okay, please rewrite this for CDP, the audience is the same, but the offering is different and it's going to work.

So it can do the same for AI. I like the vision in ChatGPT to upload like a screenshot. Let's say I have a page and I want to change things. I do this quite a lot, actually. That's a really useful feature in the plus plan, I think, so. You can do that and I think that's how I tend to use it.

I don't use too much the AI generated websites, but it's cool that it's coming. This was like just a... You know, recently, this was never possible. And now it's like here. And it's like in its early stages, but it's kind of, I'm sure it's going to get a lot better if it's already in this level now.

Yeah, I absolutely agree. And, you know, with those pages, as I said, you can tweak everything. So for example, I don't necessarily like this image. So what I can do is here, just click replace and go to Unsplash. We have got a direct integration. So here, for example, we can see if there are any images about affiliate marketing.

That's something that in my opinion would look better. So affiliate marketing, okay. I think this itself looks slightly better already. Shows, you know, shows a laptop. Like full width banners and things like that, or? For sure, we can do that here, image window settings. Is this the same editor as your other templates, or is this a different one for the AI generated ones?

So this is, for, yeah, this is the same for all landing pages, the new landing pages that we've got. So we should be able to do the full width. So let me see, because, oh, what did I do? Removed it for a second. So it depends on the image itself that we take from unsplash. This is 750 scale to full screen on mobile.

So we can see what it looks like on a desktop and mobile. Yeah, on mobile it looks better, but probably because it's, Yeah. But yeah, I would tweak things to get it above the full, like if you go back to your page that you created for the course you guys did, I think that one was quite good.

So let me actually pick a new section where there's only an image in the background. So we could kind of break it and fill it again. Yeah, you can write text on it as well, I think on the... Exactly. So where's this one? Let's see. If it's, okay, that's going to look better. So free affiliate marketing course.

So let's make that much bigger. 80 and white. And of course, if it's too big, or if it's not legible enough, we can add a background color over it. So again, this is white, this is black. Could you also have like an, you can have a colored background as well, like, or... maybe you don't want an image, for example.

I don't use too much this image on my background, but. Yeah, so you can actually add a background color, so remove the image. Yeah, you can like tweak this. Can you put the opt in in the top section too? Like a button or something? For sure. So.... You have some options there. Like, it's nice.

So you can, for example, add a button here. Let's go with just a simple one. And what it does, it's gonna... Can the AI do this from the beginning? Like to generate it like this, if you give instructions how to do it? Or, it's just... No, it's gonna come up with its own suggestions, like, with the layout.

That's why the use of ready made landing pages, templates might be a better use if you like. Yeah, currently at least, but it's coming, it's going to improve. I'm sure you're going to make, I have seen a lot of these tools and they are pretty similar. I don't do it always a hundred percent, you know?

Yeah. So for example, here I've added the button that is linking to another section. So let's say that there's an, there's a get in touch. There's a contact form in the section five. So, if we preview this, that should already take me to the fifth section, right? Okay, if you wanted to have this, but you can also integrate an opt in form there or something like that.

Yeah, for sure. So, we can just drag and drop a new form. So, we wanted actually a form here, right? Cool. So, and it's a sign up form, for example, for this course, right? So, this is the form, actually the dark background, probably one would have been better. So, let's go again.

Here. Sign up, okay, that's the one, right? And you can tweak it again, so with design wise, for example, if the field is not legible, or for some reason you can change it, over here as well. But actually, this takes me to another step, so... Yeah. This is how we designed this page.

So we wanted to make sure that the header is there. Go back to the other one again, like, so we can see the affiliate mark. The one you guys used for the course. So. Yeah, yeah. It's the same builder base. This is a GetResponse page, essentially, right? So you have the top section, a video.

So talk us through, so you basically used ChatGPT to write some of the copy, or I don't know if you, do you have that already integrated, or is that coming? That you actually can write the copy with the, in the slides? So, when you, when you look at this page, so you can see that it actually has written some stuff.

Discovered the secrets to launching successful online marketing venture, etc. So it's generated some copy, but we actually... Do have like, can you add more? Is that something you are, you might be adding, like you can actually... If you use tools like Notion or ClickUp, I use ClickUp a lot, you have like a little write feature and I think even in Elementor, which I use for my summit, you have like, so you can edit, I mean, I don't use that too much yet, but you can have the AI features in there.

Also, with WordPress, like RankMath has Content AI, so that would be cool if you, it would be one of the first, I think, email platforms to integrate it, right? So we're already testing that. So it's in production, and that's how we generated this copy. So like we use ChatGPT outside, but we will be able to do it inside.

This is actually a layout that we like. So we like to have a header and explanation description of the webinar, plus a video and an invitation. And go straight to the signup form. Then in the next section... Bullets is, it's really easy to do with AI, actually. That's one of the best use cases, I think.

I use it a lot for bullets or getting examples and things like that. Yeah, that's actually true. So in the course, I remember we actually, we're asking the AI to summarize the content that we've prepared, so that, what are the key takeaways of this? Are you using Descript, internally?

Like for videos? Because that's, they just released some really cool, even more, they had a lot of AI features for editing and stuff like that, but now they have a lot more summary features and you can even write blogs with, I don't know how good that would be, but you can do a lot more, like even a little bit longer form description, you can do YouTube descriptions with a click.

So it's really fast to do it. And I mean, that could be useful for an email course to just get the chapters so people can follow along. And yeah, so I'm not sure what we're using, but I remember recently my team member was actually, he recorded a Q& A session on the Philip Martin with one of our partners, and then he uploaded it to the tool that he was using and asked it to write a summary and like, or turn it into a blog post so that we can pitch it to media outlets.

Yeah, yeah, I mean it's like, that's why I like doing, for me at least, I like doing longer form video content because that can turn into so many pieces of content, that can even turn into email, social media content, blog posts, you name it, right? So, I think that's good, I mean that's what AI has enabled us to do because before it was really time consuming to repurpose.

Now it's really easy, actually, and you can do it in a very high quality if this is unique content. Let's say we are creating this session now, we upload it to YouTube, then we can actually turn it into a lot of pieces of content. I can even send you clips. I can do it a lot easier.

I don't need like a big team to do it like was, that was kind of necessary before. For sure. And actually, speaking of which, so we can actually go back to GetResponse and I can show you how you can quickly create a whole campaign, without actually building the separate blocks on their own.

So we have this feature called AI Campaigns. So for a new person that wants to start their own business or like, let's say you wanted to launch an affiliate marketing course, this is what essentially you could do. It's click create campaign, this is an internal name. Campaign within GetResponse is automated emails, right?

It's a landing page, a welcome email and a newsletter. Every tool, they call it slightly different, so you just have to get used to it. Like, I mean, but it's essentially, and like, so they have a landing, yeah, you call it campaign, but like when they sign up to it, it's automated emails they will receive, right?

Yeah. Yeah, that's true. So let's say again, so affiliate marketing course for beginners, video format eight lessons. And let's say that the field I'm working in is affiliate programs. Who do I want to reach? Beginners who want to start making passive income. Let's say, GetBusy. That's the name of my company and I want to be convincing.

And this is going to take, let me just get rid of the logo and choose a color scheme. So this is going to take a few moments. So this is using OpenAI. Depending on the availability of OpenAI, this is going to be like, one minute setup. Sometimes it can take a couple of minutes. But we can see how already an email has been generated.

So we can see what the email could look like. So this is an autoresponder, so a welcome email. Affiliate marketing course. It comes up with the subject line already. We can tweak it. We can generate some new versions if you want to. Welcome to the world of passive income mastery.

That sounds legit, especially if you want to generate this kind of content. Go to edit message and let's see. Okay. The layout looks good. I would choose a different image. This is what something AI- A scam, a scam warning, you know. Exactly. So let's find something else. So free image, we can use Shutterstock or we can use GetResponses' images.

It's all integrated. Even Shutterstock is integrated to the page. Yeah. Yeah. And already available for free Shutterstock. Some are paid, some are free. It would be cool if you integrated like with you know, Midjourney or something in the future. Oh, I think that's the future, honestly.

I mean, I think tools will be able to integrate these things. There's already Dall-E 3 and all this kind of AI image generators. I think it would be cool because then you can have some, you know, I don't like, I mean, stock photos are great, but I don't like it too much anymore because you can do so much more, so much cooler stuff with Midjourney and these, you know.

I'm sure you, are using it internally? Yeah, so I actually wanted to tell you, so we use Midjourney now to build or create images for the templates that we create for our customers. And I use it for articles or social media posts as well. Sometimes it's weird and you have to be specific in the prompt.

You have to be good. I mean, Midjourney has a lot, has a lot of things that you can do with it, of course. But you can create really amazing photorealistic stuff as well. I mean, it's mind blowing what you can do with it, I think. Even, to some extent, Dall-E 3 is great, for creating, like, some, you know, you can create some robot looking thing if you're talking about AI or something like that.

That's pretty good, and you can change the colors, and you can do a lot. And I think that's normally better than stock photos for the reason that stock photos a lot of other companies are using, or other creators might be using it undersized. Yes. And Google and, you know, they have a lot.

So when you're creating a unique image, no one else has used it, it's going to be more beneficial to you as well. And also it looks cooler. Absolutely. Yeah. There was a moment where all the blogs started using the same stock photos from Unsplash, from- The same one. Exact same ones, yeah.

Yeah, exactly. And so it was also a cool thing at the beginning, but it's not, no longer. So just yesterday I generated an image about content creator in a workshop about Marvel, Marvel style. And it actually had a Spider Man mask and some logo there, etc. In my opinion, it looks much more unique than anything else you can find in those, uh, pages.

So for sure, you know, this is the future. For now, you can pick from images or just add your own ones. But as you can see, the email has already got the whole copy there. You can tweak it, get ready to dive into our comprehensive video course, specially designed for beginners like you.

All of the content looks legit. All you have to do is just make it your own, tweak it. So, just link the button to wherever you want to link it. But when we actually save it and publish, we can go back to the whole campaign generator and see other items over there. We can send it to our audience.

So we should, okay, this is still generating. So we can actually look at one of the things that I've generated a few moments before to show you just , what the landing page looks like. Again, you can tweak it to make it your own, to publish it, add the testimonials of your customers.

So, essentially, you can launch a whole campaign in a few moments. And what I actually like a lot is that you also can do paid ads. So that's actually some of the things that I hate myself, coming up with ad copy. I agree with you. I'm in the same boat. I don't know, that's kind of cool.

I have one tool that I use for images. But what do you, is that only for copy you guys are doing here? Yeah, for now it's for copy, I think in the future we'll have- Have you used AdCreative? That AI? Yes, so that 's what my team uses for- It's like ChatGPT, there's a slogan, if ChatGPT and Canva had a baby, that's Adcreative.

ai basically. It's perfect. And I think it's a pretty fitting, because there's a very specific tool for ads and they have a lot of different things in there. I think it's a great platform, actually. Yeah, we use it as well. I mean, if we want, we ask our designers to come up with stuff.

But, you know, they don't like that kind of stuff as well. It takes them a lot of time to come up with the same tweaked version. My team doesn't like that, like my designer and stuff like that. They don't like these tedious things where they need to test a lot of versions. So I think that for that use case, it's great to have a platform that can spit out a lot of images or creatives that you, which you need for running ads.

You need to test a lot of things to find a winning one. And with a design team, it's like limited a little bit. So I think that also are, you know, you can also test things from Midjourney and different platforms. I think that's like even more unique than something that Adcreative, but Adcreative is like proven stuff.

I think that's why, it's cool to kind of combine that with the email marketing platform. Actually, I think that the biggest benefit of it is that, your designers might have a specific style that they like to do, the way they like to design banners, or they like to design stuff that in their opinion looks beautiful, but it's not always the beautiful stuff that converts.

So you have to- Use these tools or something like that. So I guess you can do it like next to something like that. You can call, you can split test it. You can test different creatives, ad sets, and then you're off to the races. That's what we sometimes do as well. So, here you can see an example of search ads campaign that we created just a few moments before this session.

So all I said is that I'm a personal coach, fitness coach and nutritionist, and I wanted to offer one to one coaching sessions. And in just a minute or two, I got a bit of, you know, inspiration for paid ads. And in my opinion, that's even better than what I would have come up with.

Because I remember writing copy for ads. You know, you have 30 characters to fill in, eight or how many times. Yeah. It's not easy. I always, I mean, I think you can start like, as we have mentioned many times, use AI as an assistant. Fill out these things, you're going to get something.

As we said, like, if you had, like a video, like we are doing now, you can use it to Descript, you're getting a description. Why would you sit down to think about a description when you're gonna get it, like, maybe 90 percent there, or maybe, worst case, like, 80%, but, like, I have found myself, I'm doing it for, because I'm adding stuff now to, kind of, the members area for AI, the Super Bundle we have for the summit and for the summit sessions and all of this, and, I find myself like using almost the description that I get from this script is really good.

And I tweak it a little bit, like maybe it's, and even the, they even give me the title suggestions. So sometimes I have a, oh, this is interesting. I didn't think of this title. So I changed it, you know, it's really good. So these things is going, moving forward fast with this technology.

Yeah, so I don't think marketers should be afraid in general. I mean, some people feel like that it might replace them. But- I think marketers embrace it a lot, by the way. I think marketers, like certain marketers, do it. I think that where it's like a little bit fine line is like, the very creative people.

Like, I think like the photographers, the videographers and things like that, but I think that can benefit them too. Because we are not, I didn't think AI was not going to replace the best video editors in the world. It's going to replace maybe a mediocre one for sure. And AI is going to replace very mediocre content creators.

And it's going to replace you if you can. I mean, yeah, really average blog posts for sure, AI would replace that. Like now anyone can do it, but like really good stuff, I don't think AI will not replace that. It will, someone who's using AI, it will just amplify themselves by leveraging this new technology and the things that are coming out.

I think that's how I see it at least. So, yeah, I don't know if you have any take on that. Yeah, no, I agree. So I use AI when creating blog posts quite a lot, but to refine the content, to come up with some creative angles, how to rewrite something, use some copywriting technique to create a better introduction, but it's never ideal and you have to tweak it.

And if you leave it to just do its own thing, it's going to come up with something not perfect. You can spot it right away. It starts with always like in the fast paced digital marketing world and then goes on. Yeah, it depends on the tool you're using as well. I've been using like Content at Scale, I use like Content AI by RankMath, so I use like specific tools for the use case.

I don't always go, I do use ChatGPT for certain things, but not for everything for blogging. If you're just like, you know, you don't blog too much or you don't want to like take it seriously. I think it's fine, but, I think otherwise there are very specific use cases for certain tools, but they're also more premium in certain cases, because that's for replacing writers.

Writers are expensive, so if you can actually replace your team and just have like an AI optimized login, like Content at Scale talks about this, like AI optimized, like it's not just AI, but it's optimized by human. I think that is actually a beautiful synergy, and it works pretty well.

Yeah. Absolutely. Yeah, let's continue with this one. I want to see- We can see that it's actually created the whole thing for us. So you can see the landing page for the affiliate marketing course. Again, some of the images might not be perfect, so this is our job to make sure that it shows you.

I learned a secret- I would probably not put it like next. I mean, I don't know if that's, it looks kind of strange to put it next to each other, but I don't know. Yeah. I would probably have like an, is that, okay, yeah, I would have the opt in above the fold. I think this stuff, maybe it's not, if you improve the model for this, I think it will be more, even better.

But it's easy to drag in an opt in form, right? So. Yeah. Or like a- To be honest I like to have a button instead of an opt in form. Yeah, I usually do it, most of the cases. I do it most of the time, I use a button with a pop up coming. Yeah, so here you can add it, you know, you can of course add an opt in form.

So this is what we had here, quite in the above the fold or, actually, in this tab. And this is another template that we used that was created whole with AI for a webinar. So what you can see here is a placeholder for a webinar sign up form. This is all AI generated for us. You know, this is a one to one Q& A session we did with one of our partners.

The copy itself... This page is all generated from AI. Exactly. Yeah, along with the headlines, the countdown timer, with the descriptions. Do you need to add some more details to get it in the, I like the structure is pretty neat. Like how, how are you doing a page? Because this is very different than the, I, can you get like an opt in page that looks like this?

Because I don't personally, I don't like, like the images like coming next to the form. That looks strange to me. I would never do it like that. So this is more of a standard one. You have the sections and you kind of see everything clearly. That's kind of how I like to do my pages.

Yeah, so this is actually when the challenge, I guess, with using AI is going to come up with different angles and we have to create guardrails for it. So this is generated with AI, but it was after a few attempts. So sometimes you have to take a few attempts. And it's generated.

Yeah, so sometimes it's faster to take a template that you have already. Like you can try, like you get the copy here, but you can already. I think something that would be cool, and I'm sure you guys are working, you said you're already working on it, like if you're taking a template, and you're having like, generate headline, like with a click, you know?

Yeah. I think that stuff would be useful, but you already have the template within, so you go section by section, I think you control it a lot more that way, and you don't have like, AI is coming up with the full page, it's gonna make a lot of mistakes, but if you have the section that is already designed and then you decide, okay, headline, check, and then we have the subtitle, like, and all this kind of stuff, and the bullet points and all that.

I think that's going to be a better, much better looking site, but also probably better copy as well. Yeah, I agree. So this is, you can see now the templates that we've got. They look better than the pages. Let's look at one of them with some, one of them have color there. Like I see, like this one.

Which one do you want to pick? The one with like red and some blue. I don't know. It's just because it looks more stand out on this page. Just pick someone, something you like. Yeah, so for an eBook, for example, I like this one. Yeah, eBook is fine. Like, that's a good way to build your list if you're getting started, for example.

Yeah. Alright, this looks already better than, you know, when the AI came out of the box. Exactly, and this is something that our designers generated, created, rather than generated. So of course you can tell that it's a much better job by a human that actually understands conversion optimization and all that stuff.

And so I think the next step- That's what I'm looking for, to have the generative AI. Of course you can go to ChatGPT, you can go to your favorite AI tool and generate this pretty easily or come up with ideas. I don't usually take the title out of the gate. I kind of mix and match a little bit.

Maybe I'm getting like an idea I didn't think of on an angle. And then, okay, this is actually how I was playing around with the summit headline, the title for the page. I came up with it, but then I went to ChatGPT and asked to come up with more versions and now, okay, this is nice.

Maybe I took a word from that, I forgot exactly what I did, but I took maybe one word that I didn't think of and I put it into the title. But most of it was me, but with a little help from the AI. That's kind of hard. Yeah, that's my process as well. So I, you know, I go back and forth, back and forth with my ideas.

And- Yeah, because before AI was really difficult to do this. Imagine you're sitting yourself, you don't want to bother your team, or you don't have a team event. You can be like a solo business owner and you can have a helper and brainstorm like without, I mean, ChatGPT plus is like 20 bucks a month or something like this.

So yeah, maybe, but there's, maybe you're already using a tool that has, they got it built in like Notion or ClickUp. Then you can like, you can get ideas from there. But yeah, I use, I have a subscription for a few tools because I find it useful to test different things and it's different use cases.

Yeah, for sure. So, I mean, the 20 bucks investment, it paid off really quickly when working on the first landing page. It takes an hour to set it up now, rather than several hours to write the whole copy, set up the landing page with the webinar, etc. Even the email that goes after to people.

What do you think in terms of the list building part? Like to build a list, generating the traffic and things like that is, AI is, I mean, of course, is that the content generation piece, but can it help in some way to build that list as well, to get the people to the pages and into your funnels?

Yeah, so definitely can create the content, the lead magnet that you're going to use, and it can create the landing page that you're going to host it on. On top of that, you can create the paid ads for you, so it can actually create the top of the funnel traffic that will go to the landing page, then can create the follow up sequences that people will receive later on.

You know, it can help you throughout the whole process, you can ask it for some ideas for angles. Like, hey, this is my product. How do you see I should be promoting this? And whether GetResponse or using in ChatGPT, probably I would start with ChatGPT for that to ask for some ideas.

It could tell me, okay, use social media, use TikTok for that. Okay. Create five ideas for a TikTok video. Okay. Can you write me a script for that? I can do all of these things and guide you throughout the whole process. I think that's the most valuable in this whole journey that you can actually, you can come up with plans specifically tailored to you, and then you can reiterate, of course, don't take everything the AI says.

Like that's, you need to have a little bit input from yourself and you need to take the decision at the end of the day, but you can do a lot more than what was possible before. So let's showcase this inside, GetResponse here in terms of the emails and stuff. So let's say they sign up for this one.

We want to deliver an eBook or whether that's an email course or something like that. So let's showcase inside to kind of the AI features as well for the emails and stuff you have. I think you even have for subject lines and stuff, if I'm not mistaken. Yeah, so we can go to autoresponder.

So let's say this is a welcome email that we want to send to people. So create autoresponder with AI. And let's say this is a welcome email containing an eBook we created on fitness plans for beginners, let's say. This is fitness, fitness coaching. Who is this message for? Beginners who want to start training at home, let's say.

And autoresponder, this is a welcome. This should be convincing, we can choose the tone of the email. We can use the same layout that we saw before, so one column with an image. This is actually the most optimized for mobile phones these days. That's why we recommend this one. We can use a color scheme that we want to pick here.

And it's going to take just a couple of moments to create the whole thing, the whole email with us. Again, this is something that we should be tweaking. We should make sure that this is reflecting our brand, that this shows the right image. So for example, transfer your fitness. Hey there, are you ready to take your fitness to the next level?

Exclusive coaching program, transform your body. This, for example, we said that this is going to contain an eBook, so rather than join now, this should reflect that you can download the guide, right? So download the eBook, and that will link to a media file that we have stored in files and images here or in an outside system.

And of course, all of the text, all of the images can be changed. So I don't know if we were, for example, targeting women or we're targeting men or anyone. That doesn't really matter. So all of that is generating new content for you. What's coming is the tweak, the text assistant, which in my opinion is just going to be the game changer in all of this.

But when we chose next, actually, for autoresponders, they go out as soon as someone signs up. But if you're creating a new newsletter- Then you can have multiple emails like to build like a, I mean, kind of like an automation or campaign. Exactly. Yeah, but there's another feature, for example, that if you're sending out newsletters, rather than choosing let's say that you want to send out on Monday 9 AM, you can choose a feature called perfect timing that actually looks back at the opens and clicks of the audience.

Is that like some AI? I'm sure it's some stuff in, in there as well. I think I've seen it in other tools called Predictive something or something like that. Yeah, so this is, this is that. That was actually even before our website builder. This is something we came up with a few years ago.

We are using it every single time. So when - They say like the audience and things, and it's like, I mean, it must be some, there's like AI behind the scenes going on there, I'm sure. Yeah. Yeah. That's what- I meant when you were early into the game with AI, I guess. So this is cool.

Yeah, so, we've generated the email, it should be, let me see, to what list it was connected, so . So do you use something else that could be useful, like I can see AI could be a great thing for is the tagging and stuff like that, right? You have to come up with the tags and things like that when you're doing your email marketing to segment people and all of this.

I mean, you know, maybe you have to create your perfect tagging system. Maybe AI could come up with that, for example. That could be interesting. So I haven't used AI for that just yet. We can- I have my own system right now, but I'm just thinking like for people who, because I've seen a lot of my students and things like that, a lot of people, they don't have, they don't have a clue how to do tagging the right way.

They like keep it all messy and things like that. They don't keep a system. It took me a lot of trial and error to get it right. We're not going to have a tagging masterclass here. That's a big, big thing. We can, you know, but for example, you might have, you know, if someone purchased a product, I might have like brackets, sales.

And then I have purchased the AI Super Bundle, like cool on AI Super Bundle. So I keep it very organized like that, or if they sign up for a lead, I keep it like so I can see it very, a great overview. And it's also easy when you search for things in your email marketing software, like GetResponse in this case.

I'm sure you do it similar to other tools in this case. You have tagging, you have custom fields and all of this. And I think that could be, certain things could be useful, maybe built in in some of these tools. Again, I give suggestions, like, hey, do you want a tag for this? Some people might forget that they actually need to tag someone to segment.

And I think that is a great use case, because, especially for beginners, who have no clue how to do it. And there can just be a guide point for them. to actually set this up. Yeah. So the two ways I see that this could work is one that we're going to have in the future, like predicted segments.

For example, if you're top 10 percent subscribers, most engaged subscribers, or like those with high CLV, etc, or you can use ChatGPT and just ask it or any other AI, ask it like, what was the tagging system? What was the audience like? When I was creating a webinar for non profits, I know a lot about email marketing, but I don't know much about non profits.

So I asked AI, tell me what kind of audiences there are. It's great to learn. And you know another thing, if you already know a great, maybe you see someone who had a video on let's say YouTube or breaking this down and you wanted to create something similar, maybe you've seen inside the tool.

Maybe you can ask the AI to, okay, I would like a tagging system for my business. Here's kind of how I wanted to look like or here's my initial tags I set up. So maybe they can do something and then you can put it into a spreadsheet and you can keep it really organized for yourself.

So you actually keep track, you know. I think that is the most important thing. It might look nice in the beginning, but when you start adding things, adding interests, you know, when people click, you can tag people, when they sign up to different lead magnets, you want to tag them.

Keep things organized is my biggest advice. Otherwise, you're gonna have a messy email marketing tool. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. But yeah, I see all the benefits of this solution and I'm looking forward to how it's going to change because it's really changing so fast. Last year we were talking about how ChatGPT can wrap about content marketing, these kinds of things, like the first use cases was just the viral stuff that was there.

But let's change the game so far. That's awesome. And, of course, leverage email marketing and using this kind of the synergy between the two as we've talked about here in this session. Yeah, for sure. So definitely don't be afraid of getting into AI and using it for the first time.

I would definitely check out YouTube tutorials on how other people already use AI. And check out eBooks that are already created. We actually have an eBook of our own with ChatGPT prompts that our team curated. And I highly recommend checking it out because it, also for me, who's been using ChatGPT for almost a year now, it's helped me come up with new angles.

So for the course that we were actually doing, I told you before, we needed to come up with a domain name as well. That's like something that I hate to do. Come up with a domain name that's good, that's memorable, works with the brand, but also it's not taken. ChatGPT can help you with all these things as well.

So, I highly recommend checking out all the stuff that people already created and check how they create their prompts, because that's another thing. You can get discouraged from using AI, uh, if you use it first and you are not very specific, you tell it just to write something, uh, it makes mistakes.

So, if you can create very specific prompts, inspired by others, I think this is going to be very helpful. Yeah, totally. And I think it's about going back and forth a little bit. If you have used this analogy before, if you hire an intern or even like a more seasoned writer or copywriter in your business, you are not just going to expect them to spit out magic, right?

They need to know a little bit about you, about your business, what it is that you offer. Things like that, and it's the same with the AI. If you're using ChatGPT, you need to give it instructions. You need to, you can also go back and forth, have a conversation with it. Just like you would with a human, and you're gonna get a lot better results.
