Full opus clip tutorial for creators - how to create 100 viral shorts in minutes using

Hey, it's Navid here. And in this session, we are going to show you a complete Opus Clip tutorial, how you can create 100 viral YouTube Shorts in no time, or for any social media platform. Essentially, this is incredible what you can do from For example, if you have long form content like a podcast or a summit or whatever it is, you can actually turn this into short form content for social media so you can grow faster.

So I have Jan with me to showcase the platform and give you a full walkthrough of what this can look like. But let's dive in here to showcase this. This is just incredible what AI technology and AI tools can do for you. It's so cool because now we can all create Hormozi style video. Basically without having the team. Right. I don't want his big team, so this is the background of Opus after you are logged in.

You can see I can upload around 20 hours and 27 minutes of video content. This is the overview of all the videos that I have in here. Let's walk through the process, but before we do, The styling, obviously, is really important for these shorts, right? So, what the transcripts look like, what the captions look like, do you have emojis, do you have the right colors, the right font faces, and stuff like that.

And that is called a brand template in Opus. So before we actually upload content, let's make sure it looks good first. And with these brand templates, you can have four or five different templates, actually, and we'll go with a new one right here. The auto caption can be one line, or it can be a maximum of three lines per page.

What's cool is we don't have to worry about where the caption would be placed. Because obviously if you have a talking head video, like we are recording right now at parts. We don't want the caption to lay over our faces, right? That would look really unprofessional. So the AI behind OpusClip can actually detect where the faces are so that the captions don't lay over those faces.

You can have different transitions. So you can have this underline right here. You can have this pop out animation. You can have a scale, which doesn't really do anything except for scaling in once. Or they can slide in from the left ones. I really like with this karaoke style because it just keeps people engaged.

It's something visual happening. Then you can pick the color of this call out. So let's go with something insanely useless, which I would never use. but you can obviously have the hex color of your brand color palette in here as well. Really, really important. You can have your logo or call to action on here.

So what this looks like is, this is the KoBra AI logo. You can drag and drop it and just place it anywhere that you'd like. You can have it middle aligned or whatever. You just go with. Top right for now. Then we can have the font size activated or customized. And this is not the biggest selection of font faces, but I would say this is a good thing, because the caption font face has to be very easy to read.

So if you are not a designer, chances are you would pick a font face without realizing that it's not easy to read, which would defeat the purpose. So that's why it's good they limit this to sans serif font. Fonts, I think only, and stuff that's very clear. You can update the font color, the stroke, the shadow, the keyword highlighter, and stuff like that.

The layout settings are really cool. So the auto means Opus Pro realigns the video to bring the person who's actually speaking in the center of the video. Which makes it, makes sure it always looks good. You can always have the fit so that the entire video is here, which usually creates black bars if you record in horizontal format, like most people would do probably, when they, when it's long form content, at least you would record horizontally.

If you record short form, you would do it vertically and then that wouldn't be a problem, but we'll just leave this as auto right now. Get rid of this, by the way, and then we can rock and roll. So let's save this template, go back to the dashboard. And let's upload a file right here.

So I'll take something that is really, really short, so that you can go through the full process. Also needs to be a talking head video. So this is one of our other sessions, Navid, uploading this right here. And while it's uploading, let's open another tab with Opus Pro and show you what the result looks like.

So this is the session we did with Henry for the summit, and I've asked Opus to create snippets between an automated length. So this is 31 seconds. Now it's feeding the other one. This is 53 seconds. And the cool thing is, it explains why it picked this specific snippet. So the AI tries to identify the sections of the conversation that you've uploaded that are the, have the most potential to go viral.

It gives you scores, right? I think they Yeah, it's a virality score. Yeah, yeah. So you can like, because YouTube, you can post this like on Instagram, YouTube Shorts, maybe TikTok even as well. So, I mean, it's pretty amazing. And I think from just a few long form videos, like for a video podcast or for a video Type virtual event or summit.

You can probably get a hundred shorts that you can post on social media, which is pretty remarkable to be honest. And yeah, the quality is actually really nice. it's, This is uploaded already, by the way, so you could see how fast this is. And it depends on your internet speed of course, but it's, it's really easy.

Shows you, it would take me 33 minutes of credits to use this. What is cool is. I can say if the first five minutes of this session are like banter and are not really relevant for me to repurpose them into shorts, I can exclude them from the processing time frame. So now my credit usage goes down and I avoid creating shorts that I wouldn't use in the first place.

This is really cool. You can tell it to only create clips that are between 30 seconds and 60 seconds long or up to three minutes. Or just leave it as auto and you can filter by keywords. So if you want to have shorts that always talk about AI, for example, or that always talk about creating a brand persona or whatever it is that you sell, if that keyword gets mentioned, Opus picks it up and creates a short from that specific section.

And now all we have to do is get clips and we let it do its magic. Have you found that it's pretty accurate, like in terms of the transcription and stuff like that, or the words it's putting on, even if you're Let's say if you have an accent or something like that, does it still pick it up?

Like, you know, It understands pretty well. So I've recorded with native English speakers. I've recorded with Australians. I have recorded with German speaking English, and that was no problem so far. And I've got an accent myself, and it doesn't have a problem with my own tonality.

Yeah. And the cool thing is right now, we've said that we can create 100 shorts in no time. What's cool is this is automatic, so you can do something else. You don't need to wait on Opus, so you can safely leave this page. We'll send you an email notification when it's done, which gives us time to show the people watching this how we can repurpose those shorts.

So let's take the top one right here. Video starts with a thought provoking quote that encourages the viewer to reflect on the significance of perception in marketing and business. Let's download this in the HD version. Is that the top quality you can download from Opus in HD, right?

That's HD, yeah. Yeah, but that's usually the, what you need for like YouTube shorts and stuff like that. Right, and this is what it looks like. With the brand template that I had back then, and now what I can do with this is, I copy the transcript, and obviously with the YouTube short, you need a YouTube title, you need a description, you need the tags, all those things, right?

So Yeah, because usually what happens on YouTube is like a typically a different type of audience that would come in. Some people like, maybe started with long form content more, and, but, and then, because it's a different audience, but maybe you can get an audience for your long form content from the shorts, right?

Because the attention span is shorter in the beginning, when they know, like, and trust you, they will watch more of your content. So this is going to be a great strategy, actually, to just get more views to your long form content as well, potentially. So You have to just play around with it.

Obviously, different channels have different, different type of audiences. Yeah. so here's my process for creating the collateral that you need to actually publish the shorts. I paste the transcript that Opus gives me into ChatGPT, say, this is the transcript. And now the prompt is, please turn the transcript into a post for social media and three tweets, right?

For a business minded audience of e-commerce shop owners, blah, blah, blah. So this is the audience and the tone of voice. That the post should reflect more detail about the audience and the post and how it's going to be used. I also described the call to action. You can obviously copy this for yourself in any point.

But essentially you just have the instruction once. And you tell it for the social media posts, keep the YouTube algo in mind, write in a way that it ranks high in the organic search, use keywords and hashtags, and suggest tags that drive high traffic. And this is what I actually use for Convesio when I manage the content for them.

I go through this exact process. And there we go, you can copy and paste those directly into YouTube and obviously expand on them. There are the three tweets because I like to post videos on Twitter more than once. Yeah, you basically get a full content, like a content workflow a little bit from this.

That's why I love video content, right? Because you can do, you can do so much with a long form video, right? Like 30 minutes to an hour, you can do so much with it. Rather than just like, that's what we talked about, like, you can actually also create a lot of content from interviews and collaboration projects and stuff like that.

Yeah, so this is, another 17 minutes, we won't drag the video out that long, but essentially what this process is now about, you upload a video to Opus. You make sure that in the brand template, the layout reflects what your brand looks like. Very, very important, obviously. You take the transcripts from here, from Opus Pro, and you feed it into ChatGPT, and you ask it to turn the video transcript into the post that you need for the social profiles you want to share the video on.

That's the entire content engine that Opus Pro lets you do, and while this video now is still, let me see, on the dashboard it should show that it's still uploading, yeah, so this is still 17 minutes apart. We didn't spend the entire 17 minutes in Opus Pro. It took us, like, the real work of uploading and configuring was like 2 minutes, maybe.

Yeah, so you can basically do other things, but have you found any things, you know, obviously, you know, the pros now to use Opus Clip, but any downsides have you found with the tool that anything that they can improve? Yeah, layouts like this one right here, when you have, let me show the overview, when you have side by side content and speakers are framed.

Yeah, and also screen share. Screen share doesn't look too good. I was testing this in actually Riverside with the magic kind of clips and it didn't work too well with the screen share. It doesn't, you cannot even see it too well and it doesn't detect. Yeah, this is just talking head videos.

And if you have the framed versions, the problem is that Opus will clip the frame. And it has to zoom out quite a bit, it has to magnify quite a bit so that it is full screen, just the clip that it takes, and that then doesn't look good in the short. But other than that, if you have full width streaming like what we usually do, just the person who speaks is in the full video.

And the other one may be in a little window on the top right or something, but it's not, So if you want to do this, it's better to have the full screen basically for the edited version and then maybe occasionally side by side or screen share or whatever, but, yeah, that's something that's important.

You can also cut certain things out as you showed before, you can like just tell Opus Clip to just focus on this. This time certain time frame, certain time frames of the session, essentially. Yeah. Very cool. Video formats like this one, where you have one person full screen and the other one in the top right or something works best with Opus Pro because then it just takes like a slice out of this full image and it doesn't have to artificially zoom out and make it bigger than it really is.

Yeah, I think 200 minutes, but we get another 200. Yeah, you get another 200 minutes. And then obviously you can subscribe if you want to do more of it.

But yeah, it would cost you probably a lot more with hiring like video editors and stuff like that. So if you wanted to save some time, maybe it wouldn't be. as good, obviously, as a pro, you know, they can do a lot more, of course, but this is automated. And I'm sure this is just, this technology is getting better and better.

So I encourage you to at least check it out and be aware of what's out there to create content a lot faster. And yeah, and do you have any final words of wisdom, Jan, for this session? I think as usual, be sure what you expect. You can't expect human grade editing from this, but you can expect a massive, massive, massive time saver if you are a solopreneur, if you don't have the budget to hire a video editor that goes through the content, decides what situations to pick, what snippets to pick, everything like this is automated.

If I were to go through just a recording of this conversation, And pick out the snippets that I wanted to have as shorts. I would just have to listen through the entire conversation again. Then imagine you are like Joe Rogan or Lex Friedman you do really long podcast episodes and you have to re-listen through the entire three hours.

I feel sorry for the editors man Yeah. I mean, editors probably are humans that enjoy this type of work, but I mean, I guess, I don't know if you would enjoy it, but they're going through a lot of content, but anyway this is great. So leave your takeaways below here, below the session.
